Warriors name side for pre-season opener

Worcester Warriors have named a thirty-man squad for the pre-season opener away at Ampthill, with Tom Savage captaining the side.

The Warriors return to Dillingham Park as they did last pre-season, when they ran out 54-12 winners.

Joining new signing Savage from the start are other new faces in Kofi Cripps, James Cherry and Zach Armstrong.

Elsewhere in the starting line-up, Finn Haynes, Archie Vanes and Fraser Balmain make up the front-row, with Hallam Chapman joining Savage in the second-row.

Australian Tim Anstee rounds off the forwards as he joins Cripps and Cherry in the back-row.

The starting half-back duo sees Will Lane partner Tiff Eden, with Rory Taylor and Siva Naulago lining up in the centres.

In the back three, Roma Zheng joins Armstrong on the wings with Will Trewin completing the starting line-up at full-back.

Amongst the fifteen replacements, new faces Jack Dickinson, John Hawkins, Will Owen, Noah Cowan, Charlie Chapman, Lochie Glackin and Jack Hopson are set for first appearances in a Warriors shirt, with familiar face Cam Miell also featuring.

Rounding off the bench is Austin Wallis, Ashley Challenger, Will Reed, Billy Twelvetrees, Alfie Garside, Jake Garside and Louis Brown.
