Matt Kvesic named as new Warriors Club Captain

Worcester Warriors are delighted to announce that Matt Kvesic has been named as Club Captain for the upcoming season.

Since making his debut for the club back in 2009 against Scarlets, Kvesic has gone on to make over 130 appearances across three spells at Sixways.

Kvesic also captained the Warriors on the pitch through much of last season in the absence of former Club Captain Matt Rogerson, including in the Champ final against Bedford.

Speaking on his appointment, Kvesic said, “When I was asked to be captain it was a no-brainer really, I felt really honoured and privileged to be asked to lead the team.”

“I started a long time ago now; it’s a club that I’ve come through as a junior and through those formative years, and right now I’m lucky enough to lead the boys this season, which I’m really excited about.”

“I’m really privileged that we’ve got loads of really experienced and top quality players around me because that leadership role is a group effort, it’s not just an individual thing.”

Warriors Head Coach Matt Everard added, “I’m delighted that Matt will be our club captain this season.”

“Matt and I have known each other for a long time, and he is someone I turn to daily. Having followed and supported Matt's career for well over a decade, I truly believe last season was some of the best rugby he has played."
