Matt Everard Appointed Head Coach of Worcester Warriors
Tuesday 13 May 2025
Worcester Warriors are proud to announce the appointment of Matt Everard as the club’s new Head Coach, marking a significant step forward as the club returns to the RFU Championship in the 2025/26 season.
A former back row with over a decade of coaching experience, Everard brings a wealth of rugby knowledge and leadership to Sixways. He most recently served as Defence Coach at Leicester Tigers, where he was instrumental in developing elite-level talent and cultivating a winning culture.
Everard’s appointment signals the beginning of a new era for Worcester Warriors, as the club rebuilds with renewed ambition, focus, and a clear vision for the future.
Matt Everard said:
“This is a club with real heart, a proud history, and a loyal community behind it. The opportunity to be part of its resurgence is incredibly special. I’m here to build a team that works hard, plays with passion, and represents the people of Worcester with pride.”
The club has released a full interview with Everard, in which he shares his excitement about the role, outlines his coaching philosophy, and delivers a heartfelt message to Warriors fans.
The interview is now live on the club’s official YouTube channel, with exclusive early access offered to club newsletter subscribers.
Worcester Warriors CEO, Stephen Vaughan added:
“Matt is the right person to lead this new chapter. Having worked closely with Matt previously, he is perfect for the role, and we are delighted to have him join us at the very outset. He understands the values and culture we are looking to build here, and the potential of Worcester Warriors. His elite level experience, connections and leadership will be crucial as we return to competitive rugby and rebuild from the ground up.”
The appointment of Matt Everard follows months of careful planning behind the scenes as Worcester Warriors prepare to rejoin the RFU Championship for the 2025/26 season.
