Sam Vesty

Transition Coach

Sam Vesty joined Warriors as Academy Transition Manager in 2013 before being made Transition Coach in summer 2014.

In his playing days, Vesty came through the Leicester Tigers Academy making his debut for the club in 2002 against Biarritz in the Orange Cup.

He became the fourth generation of his family to play for Leicester and was voted Members' Player of the Year in 2005/06 followed by Players' Player of the Year in 2007/08.

He made 164 appearances for the Tigers amassing 250 points during his time at Welford Road.

A utility back, Vesty played at full-back, centre, fly-half and even once on the wing.

He represented his country at Under 18 and Under 21 level, and also represented the full England side in 2009, coming off the bench against Argentina for his debut during the summer tour.

In 2010, he moved to The Rec to join Bath Rugby where he played 64 times.

An all-round sportsman, Vesty played cricket as a wicketkeeper-batsman for Leicestershire 2nd XI before focusing his attentions towards rugby and also played tennis at county level.

At Leicester Tigers, Vesty used to play in a rock band with teammates Dan Hipkiss, George Chuter and Aaron Mauger.
