Skill Coach & Academy Assistant Manager

Gary Meechan played rugby as an England Schools, and finished his playing career with a successful spell as Coach at Stourbridge.

He joined Worcester in 2002 at the request of Nigel Redman to coach the Academy backs, before taking up the full time role as Academy Assistant Manager here at Sixways in 2004.

He has been responsible for identifying the potential of players such as Chris Pennell, Miles Benjamin, Matt Mullan, Matt Cox, Tom Wood, Dylan Hartley and Richard Blaze to name but a few, and continues working with the young Warriors Elite. He holds the RFU Level 4 Coaching award, and combines his role as Skills Development Coach with the Senior Squad and the Academy.
