Craig Gillies
Lineout king Craig Gillies joined Warriors in 2002 and has handed out towering displays ever since as one of the key members of the Worcester pack.
Gillies - who is the leading appearance maker at the club in the modern era after beating the previous record of 222 held by Tony Windo - was a key part of the unbeaten National Division One promotion winning team of 2003/04.
The giant lock, who previously had spells at Richmond and Llanelli, is widely regarded as one of the best lineout takers in the top-flight and won England A honours in 2000.
A leading figure both on and off the field, Gillies made 29 appearances during the 2009/10 campaign – more than any other Warrior.
Gillies excelled again for Warriors in the RFU Championship during 2010/11, making 28 appearances to cement a key role in the pack and Head Coach Richard Hill believes the lock is now playing some of the best rugby of his career.
Gillies said: “I very much feel part of the club and have a great deal of loyalty to Worcester. “The club has been very good to me and the Chairman Cecil Duckworth, in particular, has always supported me. It was an easy decision to stay, my family are also settled in Worcester and we love it here.
“The deal will take me through a decade at the club and there have certainly been some highs and lows. But, crucially, I really feel we are on the up under Richard Hill and I’m now very excited about being a part of the future of Worcester Warriors and our return to the Premiership.”
Last season Gillies was instrumental for Warriors as he once again finished the campaign with more appearances than any other player - 27. As the tallest player in the squad at 6' 8", Gillies is instantly recognisable and has become a true club legend.
The second row agreed a new two-year deal in 2011 and is keen to continue to dominate the airwaves for Warriors.
