Hill makes just one change to his bench with prop Rob O'Donnell named among the replacements.
Lock James Percival will skipper the Warriors alongside Chris Jones in the second row, with Jones returning to his former club. Dean Schofield could also make an appearance against his old club after being named on the bench.
Hill said: "We know how hard a game this will be and I am surprised where Sale are in the league with the squad they have got.
"You look at the Sale line-up and they have got some real stars. They have undoubted star quality and if they gel they are a very good team, on their day they can beat anyone. At the moment that has not happened, but I am sure they are working hard at it.
"I have watched them play the last few games and every time you hear from their coaches the name Worcester has been mentioned. They have looked at this game as one they have got to win to get themselves out of trouble.
"There is no doubt they will have targeted us. The teams at the bottom will keep their powder dry for certain games and they will go for teams in the bottom six.
"We want to continue our good run of form over recent weeks and finish 2012 on a high," he added.
"It will also be a special day for Alex (Grove) who has been a fantastic servant for Warriors and I am sure he will have another very strong game for us."
Worcester Warriors would like to thank the University of Worcester for the use of the 3G pitch at the city centre campus this week in preparation ahead of Friday night's fixture.
