But the victory was built of what Head Coach Richard Hill later described as the most complete 80 minutes of the campaign as Worcester never took a step back.
The tackles continues to fly all night as Warriors went toe-to-toe with Saracens and it was that sheer determination and not let go off the lead that saw them continue a run over Saracens on home soil that stretches back for years.
Hill had spoken about his Warriors started a crucial period of seven games that will take them in the New Year on the front foot and his players did not disappoint in a brutal and frenetic opening ten minutes.
Skipper Steve Borthwick drove hard in field early on but was given a taste of what was to come as he was drilled backwards and Warriors won a penalty for not releasing. The tone was set.
Josh Matavesi, back from his exploits with Fiji, was busy from the start and showed his kicking skills at outside centre with a neat chip into space off the greasy turf that skipped into touch as Worcester looked to get in behind Saracens.
Nikki Walker then showed the home faithful his skills as he rolled out of a tackle and then produced a thumping kick down field and over visiting full back Ben Ransom to huge cheers.
A bad error from Saracens saw them take a ball dead and resulted in a five metre scrum to Warriors. But the first real opening of the game came and went as referee Tim Wigglesworth penalised the hosts for an early engagement.
Worcester opened the scoring on 11 minutes when Goode made no mistake after Borthwick was penalised for not rolling away at the breakdown.
Saracens tried to hit back immediately, as Warriors were this time hit at the breakdown, but Nils Mordt saw his kick drift left.
Worcester were dealt an early injury blow as Joe Carlisle limped off with an ankle problem and was replaced by Alex Grove.
All-action winger Walker proved his worth again with a thumping tackle to rock opposite number Duncan Taylor off his feet, after a neat chip in behind by Mordt, that forced a knock on with danger growing.
Mordt drew the sides level, after a driving maul was illegally pulled down, while Goode was just wide an effort of own after the visitors were again hit for not rolling away.
Worcester were inches from scoring the opening try of the match after some magic from Goode. Little seemed on with Saracens rushing up in defence, but Goode made an impression as he chipped over and collected at full pace. A further chip down the left looked set to sit up for the unopposed Errie Claassens, only for a cruel bounce to deny the wing a certain score.
The home side produced two monster scrums to win a succession of penalties and Goode again gestured to the posts. This time the fly half made no mistake from wide left to split the posts as Warrior retook the lead.
An intelligent kick from Claassens into space saw Mordt knock on to ironic cheers. The forwards looked to smash Saracens back before Goode dropped in the pocket but saw his drop goal effort slip wide.
Chris Jones stole a Saracens lineout but Saracens ran a clearing kick back at pace and won a penalty on the floor. Mordt, though, continued his erratic evening as he pulled his kick badly to jeers from the home support.
A charged down clearing kick, by Neil Best on Ransom, had pulses suddenly racing and Worcester worked the ball infield before Goode this time made amends for his earlier miss by slotting the drop goal to open up a 9-3 lead.
And a big scrum by Warriors, on the stroke of half-time, gave Goode another kick at goal and he confidently knocked it over for a 12-3 advantage at the interval.
Saracens came out for the second half eager to eat into the lead and a big driving lineout forced Warriors back into their own 22. However, neat work by Paul Hodgson disrupted the visitors and Richard Wigglesworth at scrum time.
The energetic James Percival broke away from a driving maul as he tore away possession and fed Ed Shervington on his shoulder. Matavesi injected pace before Goode looked to pick out Chris Jones with a cross kick but the danger was mopped up by Ransom.
Matavesi was the next to break down the middle of a ruck, but as Worcester looked to offer support the penalty went against Best for holding on.
Walker was continuing to have a rock solid game in defence as Saracens looked to go wide but the big Scot again wrapped up the marauding Ransom so he could not force a pass.
A big Saracens scrum won a penalty that gave Mordt the chance to cut the lead. But the fly half again failed to make the right connection and hit the left upright.
A decisive break down the blindside by James Short threatened hope for Saracens after an impressive period of sustained Worcester pressure in the visiting half.
But superb work from Warriors at the breakdown saw them counter ruck with passion resulted in a penalty that had Hodgson jumping for joy celebrating. Goode pointed to the posts but his kick drifted wide right from distance.
Giant Number Eight Semisi Tualava was having a huge game and produced a quite stunning run from deep to slice past several Saracens tacklers, but his pass to Walker just failed to find hands to the anguish of the home crowd.
The game entered the final ten minutes still finely balanced and with Warriors keen to run the clock down and take the points on offer.
A penalty at the scrum gave Saracens the platform to launch one more attack as the clock ticked down. And replacement fly half Sam Stanley had the chance to cut the lead back to six points, but again the effort was wide.
One last roll of the dice by Saracens saw Ratuvuo make yards but Matt Stevens this time coughed up ball in the tackle before Worcester drove back the visitors and secured the penalty to signal the end of the game.
