The Wanderers were originally the third and fourth teams of Worcester Rugby Club, this was before Worcester became a professional team. In 1998 it was decided that we should enter an amateur side into the leagues, but under the RFU rules we could not enter another team under the name of Worcester Rugby Club, as we already had one team in the league under that name. So we took the name of the old third team who played under the name of Wanderers. Therefore in 1999 we entered the bottom rung of the league as Worcester Wanderers.

Over the first three years that we played, we were promoted three times. We now play in Midlands 4 West South. The Wanderers Second team also play league rugby and are at present in the second league of the Worcester and Hereford Merit Tables. The Wanderers also have a very successful Colts side which won The National Plate Competition last season, and several of that winning side have moved up to the First team, so we are hoping that this influx of young talent will see us move up the leagues over the next few years.
