Ryan Powell joined Worcester Warriors from Cardiff Blues in March 2006 and quickly established himself as the first choice scrum half at Sixways Stadium during the early years of his spell at the club.

Powell had previously spent seven seasons at Cardiff Blues, making over 150 appearances for the club, and boasts a wealth of big game experience having played in over 20 Heineken Cup matches.

A former Wales A captain, Powell had won full international honours making three appearances for Wales at scrum-half during 2002. He made his debut from the bench against South Africa on June 8, 2002 during Wales's Summer Tour to South Africa.

Powell signed a new two-year deal with Warriors to commit his future to the club until 2010 and during the 2008/09 season made 26 appearances.

The 2009/10 season was disrupted by injury which limited Powell to 18 games, including a try against Montpellier in the Amlin Challenge Cup on home soil.

Warriors announced his departure from the club in April 2010 as Powell moved across the Midlands to join Northampton Saints.
