"It's a great way to come back after being out for so long. It's nice to get three tries as well - that always settles the nerves," said Short.
"We stuck to our plan and started scoring tries pretty quickly. It didn't take long to start scoring and their heads went down. That's when we really began to capitalise and show our professionalism."
Short was also quick to pay tribute to fellow winger David Lemi, who scored four superb tries and put in a sensational individual performance.
He continued: "David is absolutely great to have on the wing. He is such a dangerous runner. He can literally score from anywhere and it's always good to have someone like that in the team.
"Our whole backline is looking good. It's very threatening and when we get ball in hand we are very dangerous."
Warriors face home and away Amlin Challenge Cup matches against Top 14 side Perpignan in December and Short is already looking forward to the double header.
He added: "It's going to come down to the two games against Perpignan. We always knew it would be about those games and it's up to us to perform on the day.
"Perpignan will be a different kettle of fish to what we've faced so far. We know what they're like - they're a tough team.
"If we keep to our plans and keep playing, we'll be dangerous and it will be a good game."
