And to help the team get moving the club is now auctioning off a Worcester Warriors Squad Statement that is signed by the squad. This is one of only two squad statements for the 06/07 season and a wonderful piece of sporting memorabilia for a dedicated supporter to cherish.
Funds from the auction will go towards costs and be used to get the team to and from Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon and to raise valuable funds for the NDCS.
"This challenge gives us the chance to put ourselves through a tough physical test, whilst raising money for a worth while cause", said team leader Stuart Pickering.
"We spend a great deal of our time preparing elite players for various aspects of the professional game, but we rarely get a chance to test ourselves outside the club environment as a group."
"The challenge involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in just 24 hours! I'm looking forward to the spectacular scenery and the whole team will have a great sense of achievement when we reach the finish point."
The team - that includes conditioner Stuart Pickering, Academy coach Lee Douglas, physiotherapists Mike Lancaster and Ben Macdonald, community coaches Matt Sherratt and Mike Panoho and Marketing & Events Co-ordinator Chris Townend.
They will first start with the highest mountain peak in the UK and a climb up Ben Nevis in a three hour ascent and two-and-a-half descent. Less than 24 hours later the team will again lace up their walking boots and this time face a four hour climb up and down Scafell Pike - the first team setting off at 5am - before hopping in vehicles for a four and a half hour drive to Snowdon and the final part of the gruelling test. The final climb in Snowdonia National Park is set in an area of impressive coastline, rugged peaks and dramatic valleys - which will hopefully take the walkers mind off the pain in their legs during the final climb.
