An RFU disciplinary panel of His Honour Judge Jeff Blackett (chair), Clive Lambshead and Bob Williams, sitting at the Holiday Inn, Pembroke Road, Portsmouth, suspended Gillies until April 26 meaning he will now miss the clash with London Irish on Sunday.
However, Gillies is free to play again on April 27 and therefore available for selection for the sold out final home game of the season against Saracens at Sixways.
Director of Rugby John Brain said: "We thought the matter was dealt with very fairly and the outcome a fair one.
"When you take all the factors into account, such as the nature of the offence, the context of the game and what Craig actually did, we believe it's a fair hearing.
"He could have missed both games but now he will be available for selection for the Saracens game."
