Warriors Tony Windo, Shane Drahm, Gavin Quinnell and Marcel Garvey will be there to cheer you all on and start the races. As well as offering some rugby kicking, running and passing challenges and games to juniors who would like to join in. Not to forget, the chance of grabbing an autograph on a Warriors giveaway.
The Acorns Triple Run is Worcestershire's premiere running event with three different races to choose from. There's the multi-terrain 5km Spring Run - a fun-run or walk next to the Malvern Hills where fancy dress is welcomed and you can even bring your dog! Alternatively there's a half-marathon for more serious runners and also a special 1.1km course called the Chicken Run, endorsed by Aardman Animations this course is wheelchair friendly and designed specifically for people with special needs.
This is the second Acorns Triple Run, the first, last year, raised nearly £50,000 for good causes. People running the half-marathon or competing in the Chicken Run can raise funds for any charity of their choice. The 5km fun-run will raise funds directly for Acorns Children's Hospice.
So come along, look out for the Warriors matchday van and make your way over to say hello, take part in an activity or simply support all the runners who have kindly donated their time and energy to benefit such a worthwhile charity.
Acorns in Worcester was officially opened in May 2007 by HRH The Duchess of Gloucester as a state-of-the-art 10-bed specialist care facility for life-limited children living in Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and parts of Warwickshire. It desperately needs more funds to reach more families who could be benefiting from Acorns specialist paediatric care.
