He has now teamed up with Worcester once again as Defence Coach ahead of the new Aviva Premiership campaign and Hill believes he will have a big impact on the entire squad.
"We identified a couple of areas from last year where we wanted to work on," said Hill. "One was our tackle technique, teams would score too easily against us and we weren't as good in defence as we should have been.
"To solve that we employed a Defence Coach in Phil Larder, who was in that position when England won the World Cup and has been here before when Worcester were in the Premiership.
"His reputation goes before him and the players that have been here are already frightened of him - which is great," he added.
"You want a bit of fear there because he will be seeing them on Monday morning and if they have missed a couple of tackles they will have to explain why.
"Players have been talking about Phil coming in and are excited about him putting a huge emphasis on defence because you cannot afford to make many mistakes in the Aviva Premiership.
"It will be a key area and to have Phil coming in will allow Phil Davies and me to concentrate on other areas. I feel it will be the perfect balance."
