The 31-year-old, who has made 67 appearances for Warriors to date, is now eager to help the club kick on after pledging his future to the club.
And Rawlinson revealed the club's direction under Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock were vital to his decision making.
"I'm very pleased to have signed," said Rawlinson. "I'm now looking forward to the rest of this season, as we look to push up the Guinness Premiership table, and next year as I know the club is going in the right direction. That was key to my decision.
"I'm very settled and happy in the UK too so I'm delighted to be able to extend my stay with Warriors and that the club also wants to me to remain a part of its plans.
"I've really enjoyed my time at Warriors so far. There have been a lot of positive changes since I've arrived and being a part of that process has been a fantastic experience for me. The future is bright for the club and I'm very keen to be a part of it.
"The fans have also been absolutely awesome ever since I turned up. We enjoy big crowds at home and also on the road, as shown by the numbers we will take to Wembley this weekend.
"It makes such a big difference and I would love to be able to bring them more success with my new contract."
Rawlinson is now determined to play a big role in the second half of this season - starting with the trip to Wembley Stadium to tackle Saracens on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
"We know how Saracens will play and they have been successful this season, but if we can bring the form we showed against London Irish to the game we know we can get a result," he said.
"The game with London Irish has given us confidence. In the past, though, we have been unable to back that up with another performance. A big focus this season is not to back off, we must get stronger with every game and to move forward need consistency.
"We have drawn with a lot of teams at the top of the Guinness Premiership this season and if we convert those into wins we would be in a very different situation.
"On a personal level, my body feels good and I still feel fresh, which is important in such a physical league. The coaching staff have managed us well this season and I feel really refreshed before a big end to the season that is coming up."
