The hugely popular 34-year-old has become a huge favourite with Worcester fans since making the switch from home city club Gloucester in the summer of 2005.
Hooker Fortey joined up with his twin Lee, who was already a key member of the Warriors squad, and made league history in the game against Newcastle in April 2006, becoming the first twins to run out together for the same side in the Guinness Premiership.
Fortey this season made his 100th appearance for Warriors and joined the 200 Club in the English top-flight when he appeared off the bench in the league lash with Saracens in November.
"I'm delighted to announce that Chris Fortey has signed a contract extension for a further year at the Warriors," said Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock.
"I honestly believe that Chris is playing some of the best rugby of his life and his contribution to the team is very significant.
"He has developed into a leadership figure at the club and his aggressive and no nonsense style has won him huge respect from his team-mates and his opponents.
"I fully expect Chris to contribute considerably again next season and add to his current 206 Premiership appearances."
