The Community team at Warriors picked up a commendation for the 'Worcestershire npower tag inclusive programme' at the fifth annual All-Party Parliamentary Rugby Citizenship Awards in London last week.
Warriors were given the special award in the category of Social Inclusion Programme of the Year and Community Rugby Officer Simon Lane picked up a certificate from Mark McCafferty, Chief Executive of Premier Rugby.
Bristol Rugby were named the Community Initiative of the Year 2010 after a panel of judges crowned their Phoenix Project: Bright Sparks Programme as the winner.
The awards were judged by a panel including; Derek Wyatt MP, Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group, Robert Walter MP, Treasurer of the All Party Parliamentary Group, Mark McCafferty, Chief Executive of Premier Rugby, Kevin Roberts, Editorial Director of SportBusiness Magazine and Alex MacGillivray, Senior Partner at Accountability.
A late, late penalty try ensured Warriors will take a five-point advantage into the second leg of their Championship play-off semi-final as Dean Ryan's men forced a 27-22 win at the Richmond Athletic Ground.
