Students from Alvechurch, Aston Fields, St.Johns and Parkside Middle Schools will be accompanied by students from Droitwich Spa High School. Sixth Form students from Droitwich will act as study coaches for their younger peers.
The event will feature Professor John Cassella, Head of Forensic Science at Staffordshire University. Professor Carsella's university team was actively involved with the high-profile Kings Cross fire in 1987 and the Lockerbie bombing in 1988.
Workshops will also be presented by Scientific and Chemical Supplies who are market leaders in laboratory supplies, chemicals and science education equipment.
Students will be challenged to play the part of the crime scene examiner to solve the case of 'Who Killed Pat Sanderson?' by following the forensic evidence to determine the killer.
Students will examine the body and use a wide variety of forensic techniques including fingerprinting, blood analysis and DNA investigation to help build a profile of the suspect in the pursuit of justice.
The event will be hosted by the Warriors Study Centre in conjunction with Worcestershire County Council's Science Education team and supported by Worcestershire Education and Business Partnership.
