MATT MULLAN
Versatile front row Matt Mullan has been one of the star discoveries of the Warriors Academy system in recent years as he has progressed into the first team at Sixways Stadium. Mullan, comfortable at prop or hooker, was named in the England Saxons squad in 2009 and has been tipped for further international honours in the future. The prop has all the traditional strengths required for scrummaging and ball carrying but is also a very modern front row forward in that his work rate is exceptional outside the scrum in all areas of the game.
CALLUM BLACK
Black was a pupil at Colston's School in Bristol before he was recruited to Hartpury College by current Warriors Academy Manager Andrew Stanley. Born in Maryland in the USA, Black has completed four full seasons at Worcester and has represented Ireland at Under 18s, 19s and 21s and is part of the senior set-up. Black is the modern prop in every sense of the word and is very dedicated, skilful, mobile and professional. He has also been prepared to go out on loan in order to gain much needed experience at the coal-face.
WILL BOWLEY
Will Bowley, who has now played over half a century of senior games for Warriors, has become an integral key part of the Worcester pack alongside Greg Rawlinson in the second row. A product of the successful Warriors Academy, who has represented England at U18, U19 and U21 level, the lock has also shown an eye for a try with two memorable efforts in the 2008/09 campaign. Bowley continues to make big strides with his work rate and his ability to make tackles and has been tipped to have a big future ahead of him at Warriors.
GRAHAM KITCHENER
Graham Kitchener, who can play either lock or flanker, made huge strides during the 2008/09 campaign as he featured in all competitions for Warriors and grabbed two tries. The giant forward, who has featured regularly for England Under-20s in Six Nations, has developed his conditioning and strength in full-time professional rugby and is now pushing for more regular first team rugby. Hard working and eager to impress, Ruddock believes Kitchener has all the capabilities to go on and play for England at senior level and has rewarded him with a new long-term deal.
JAMES COLLINS
Academy product Collins - affectionately known as JC by his fans - has become one of the most highly rated forwards at Warriors since breaking into the first team at Sixways Stadium. The back row dynamo has impressed the national selectors with his athleticism and skill and has been rewarded with numerous call-ups to the England Sevens squad. The Birmingham-born ace was hailed as man-of-the-match after a hugely impressive all-action show against champions London Wasps at the start of the 2008/09 season when he eclipsed most of the England back row.
MATT COX
All-action back row Cox made a first team try-scoring debut in 2008 against London Wasps and has since gone on to become a regular part of Mike Ruddock's first team plans. The Redditch-born back row, who first got involved with Warriors Academy as a 15-year-old, has excelled on the international stage since making his England Under 19 debut as a 17-year-old in 2006 before going on to help his country win the Home Unions Under 18s tournament. Cox, who hails Academy managers Andrew Stanley and Gary Meechan as his two biggest influences, appeared at open-side for England in the successful 2008 U20 Six Nations campaign and has also played England Sevens.
TOM WOOD
Back row dynamo Tom Wood was thrust out of the shadows and into the first team limelight after impressing Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock in pre-season before the 2007/08 season - the all-action forward has not taken a single step back ever since. Born and bred in Coventry, Wood first picked up a rugby ball at school before a spell with local side Barkers Butts. The forward's eye-catching displays meant he was soon snapped up by the Worcester Academy and his first full season in 2007/08 saw him make 20 first team appearances. Wood has cemented a spot in the back row in recent seasons and has the desire, skills and physical size to make an international back row forward.
JONNY ARR
Rated as one of the brightest young emerging prospects at Sixways Stadium, Arr is a product of the club's thriving mini/junior set-up who has worked his way right through the ranks at the club. A former Royal Grammar School student and part of the EPDG set-up since he was 14, Arr impressed throughout the 2008/09 season in the Warriors Academy and A League and was called up by England Under-20s for the Six Nations. Held in very high regard at Warriors, Arr has shown a determination to become the best he can be and has been compared to Robert Jones by Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock for his electric speed of pass and thought.
JOE CARLISLE
Kicking king Joe Carlisle is a youngster tipped for greatness at Warriors after breaking into the first team and already showing the array of talents he possesses in the No.10 shirt. The hugely talented fly half has already shown he has the ability to perform on the highest stage with a thrilling cameo in the European Challenge Cup final of 2008 when he set up a late try and kicked a superb late conversion. A fine young playmaker rewarded for his soaring progress at Sixways Stadium with a new three-year deal by Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock, Carlisle has been praised as one of the top five most naturally gifted players he has ever seen by Australian legend Chris Latham.
ALEX GROVE
Home grown star Alex Grove was one of the breakthrough stars of the 2008/09 season and after a stunning year the Academy graduate was rewarded with a new two-year deal. Grove, a former pupil of Rugby School, has now been involved with Warriors for three years and represented Scotland at Under 18s, 19s and 20s before making his debut at A senior level in 2009. Grove is very professional in everything he does and is an excellent role model to all the younger players in the Academy in how consistent hard work and dedication can drive you towards improved performances and eventually a first team contract.
MILES BENJAMIN
Wing speedster Miles Benjamin has become one of the hottest properties in the Guinness Premiership after a staggering few seasons for the Warriors first team that has seen him showcase his stunning finishing skills. The Solihull-born flier enjoyed a stunning debut season in 2007/08 and finished as the club's leading try-scorer with 15 - ending fourth in the Guinness Premiership try scoring charts with nine efforts. Benjamin has also impressed on the international arena and was part of the IRB Junior World Championships team in 2008.
CHRIS PENNELL
Rising star Chris Pennell is regarded as one of the brightest young players on the books at Worcester Warriors after bursting into the first team during the 2007/08 season. The full back, Worcester born and bred, has been praised by Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock for his commitment and determination to battle back from injuries in recent seasons to continue his development. The former England Under-18 international has shown his eye for the try line and also possesses a accurate boot and provides the team with a long range kicking option.
