Inside the Warrior Camp - Jake Abbott

Pre-season training is well underway at Worcester Warriors as all the players return to Sixways Stadium and step up preparations ahead of the new Guinness Premiership season.
To give supporters a special insight into life 'Inside the Warrior Camp' we will be running a series of special training blogs from different players as the big countdown continues.

First up is flanker Jake Abbott....

"Training is really good at the moment, although hard with the heat we have been having - everyone seems to be enjoying the sun (Latho thinks he's back in Queensland!)

We've been working hard on our systems and plays for next year, everyone seems pretty confident at the moment. Personally, I'm really enjoying the fitness - we're currently doing four weights sessions a week, which is great for Chris 40 who loves sculpting his 'guns'!! Shaun Ruwers is also constantly on the bench and loves lifting 190kgs!!

Boys who are currently injured are recovering really well and the whole squad can't wait for the start of the season.

This morning we had a little 'accident' in the recovery room. Someone left the taps to the ice plunge pool running and flooded the dressing rooms - it was like a scene from the Poseidon Adventure - nobody is owning up to it, but the finger of suspicion is pointed firnly at the ginger Kit Manager!

Just about to leave for our Friday afternoon fitness session - five exercise stations lasting six minutes of horror………can't wait! Good thing is we have a team social barbecue after as a reward for three weeks hard work! We have Monday and Tuesday off to recover then back into four weeks of even harder work - we all love pre-season!

Enjoy the summer, Jake."
